About HEM BV

HEM BV established in 1979 (with subsidiaries in Germany, Hong Kong and China) is a import company specialized in design and production of consumer goods, bamboo and wooden skewers, decorative items and OEM promotional products for various customers.

Operating procedure:

New inquiry’s are forwarded to our Chinese or Taiwanese factories. After selecting the best factory for the job our Hong Kong office EWAY Enterprises will monitor the process of sample making (for approval).

After sample approval the factory will start production. Depending on our requirement, our colleges from our China office will conduct one, two or more QC checks. They will use a carefully crafted checklist, so they make sure everything in according to our specifications and European standard.

Logistics is handled by our Hong Kong office EWAY Enterprises, we ship goods all over the world in full container loads, but smaller orders are consolidated in Hong Kong warehouse. This will always have an effect on the delivery time, which is normally approx. 12 weeks after sample approval.

Because (European) environmental legislation is strict, we make sure all products are tested by an independent laboratory like ITS in Hong Kong.

All products must meet the European safety standard; if necessary we will even ship raw materials to China.

Finally, we work exclusively with SA8000 cerified factories who meet our “Social and Environmental Buying Conditions” This means that our factories provide good working conditions and no child or forced labour is used.

In our position of Secretary of the VIVO (Society of Importers Far East), we are the first one to be informed about the latest trade developments in China.
